The townspeople cope with their grief over Colin Hart's death last spring, and Dr. Brown and his family are unfairly marked as social outcasts because he was unable to save Colin.

Extra Ordinary,

Dr. Brown is concerned that Ephram needs more extracurricular activities to be accepted at a top college. Amy's lack of interest in college preparation alarms her mother more than her father.

My Brother's Keeper,

Dr. Abbott's sister Linda returns and encounters major resistance when she announces her decision to join his practice. Meanwhile, Bright asks Ephram to watch over Amy.

East Meets West,

Dr. Brown's plan to give Ephram more free time by hiring college student Madison as a caretaker for Delia makes things worse. Meanwhile, Dr. Brown is distracted from helping Nina.

Daddy's Little Girl,

When Dr. Brown invites Linda to the Brown house to discuss a patient, Delia lashes out. With some insight from Madison, Ephram figures out the reason for his sister's bad behavior.

Much to his chagrin, Dr. Abbott suspects that Linda and Dr. Brown are far too attracted to each other, so he decides to select more appropriate suitors for his sister.

When a coal mine collapses, Dr. Brown rushes to the scene, along with Edna, Linda and Dr. Abbott. Dr. Brown must confront his biggest fears in order to save lives.

The Burden of Truth,

When a mechanic correctly "diagnoses" Dr. Brown's young patient, the townspeople believe he is a seer. Meanwhile, Ephram confronts Madison about his feelings for her.

Unhappy Holidays,

Outraged to discover that Ephram and Madison have gotten romantically involved, Dr. Brown almost terminates her job. However, Madison quits, leaving the Browns with an unhappy holiday.

Family Dynamics,

Within an hour of the discovery that Amy has run away from home, the authorities are at the Abbott house to scour for clues and interview her devastated parents and brother.

Controlling Interest,

Dr. Brown tries to intervene when a bulimic high school champion wrestler puts his life in jeopardy. Bright is suspended from school after he fights with Amy's boyfriend, Tommy.

Distracted by her first fight with Tommy, Amy forgets to prepare her father's birthday dinner. Madison lies to Ephram about liking a love song he wrote, leading to an argument.

Ephram gets the wrong idea when Madison tells him her roommate is going to be out of town. Meanwhile, Amy decides she's ready to have sex with Tommy.

Ephram is horrified and heartbroken after he tells Madison that he loves her, and she doesn't reciprocate. Meanwhile, Linda naïvely agrees to take care of Delia overnight.

Unspoken Truths,

Bright helps Ephram get a fake ID so he can get into a bar to see Madison perform. Meanwhile, Nina relies on Dr. Brown for emotional support after she is served with divorce papers.

Unfinished Business,

Amy moves back home but finds adjusting to her old life difficult. Meanwhile, Ephram thinks Madison is going to break up with him. And Dr. Brown testifies on behalf of Nina.

Against Dr. Brown's judgment, Ephram and Madison decide that she should resume her job as Delia's babysitter. Meanwhile, Amy contemplates stopping her antidepressant medication.

Amy tells Bright that she may have developed feelings for Ephram. When Linda's HIV status is accidentally revealed to her patients, Dr. Abbott faces a potential malpractice suit.

Ephram and Amy go to the prom together as friends, but after seeing Madison, Amy realizes that Ephram's still brokenhearted and decides not to reveal her feelings for him.

Your Future Awaits,

When Amy accompanies Ephram to Boulder, a romantic moment leads her to confess her feelings for him. Meanwhile, Dr. Brown tries to convince his mentor to undergo a riskier surgery.

The Day Is Done,

Ephram is accepted into Juilliard's summer program, and Dr. Abbott decides to open a bagel shop after losing his malpractice insurance. Dr. Brown has a revelation about his family.
