It's Frank's 50th. Uncharacteristically, he snubs the chance for a party and opts to dwell in his own lonely loveless existence, until librarian Libby falls into his life.

The Maguire clan is fully mobilized for the christening of its newest member: baby Connor. Mimi is organizing everything, including reallocating godmother duties, leaving Kelly devastated.

Out of Control,

Karen's obsession to prove herself as more than just a mother has Jamie worried. Liam's pursuit of true love is threatened by his own lies, while Maxine is in turmoil when faced with a choice.

Mimi gets a new boy-toy: Billy, the Jockey football team's star striker. But her happiness is short-lived when she discovers her new beau is not the man she thought he was.

Desperate to make a good impression at her parents' party, Maxine cajoles Ian into pretending to be her boyfriend.

Frank's romantic interest, Libby, returns and her time away has only increased her ardor.

Wedding bells are in the air on the estate, a little too frequently for the police, as the Maguires exploit a new money-making scheme.

The Wild Tales,

Carl and Chesney attempt to outrun their troubles and end up in Wales. Back home, Maxine and Ian attempt to find out the truth and confront Jimmy, while Tina isn't made welcome at the WI.

Shane is devastated to discover he's firing blanks and whilst he frets, Kelly is reconciled to their future without children.

When Liam befriends a World War II veteran to help him with his school project, he finds solace in the old man's company, but Libby spies on them and jumps to all the wrong conclusions.

Ian's attempts to raise funds for the local boxing club lead him into a hornet's nest of unfinished business between the club's owner and Paddy.

Keep It in the Family,

Kelly's half-sister Tonya is left homeless and needs help to get her baby out of care. Meanwhile, Libby has organized a pilgrimage to France for her mother, with Frank as her unlikely escort.

Secret Relations,

Patrick and Mimi agree to a quick divorce but get a nasty shock when they discover that their marriage was never legal. Mimi desperately tries to work out how to save the souls of their children.

Karen and Joe are holed up in the shop where Joe is plotting their future away from Chatsworth, but Jamie has Connor in hiding and Karen isn't going anywhere without her son.
