Cagney and Lacey investigate the beating of a teenage runaway who has shunned her family's wealth and instead has been living and working on the streets as a hooker. The detectives must try and convince her to help convict her pimp.

Cagney (Sharon Gless) and Lacey (Tyne Daly) find themselves in a jam when the witness in an assault case turns out to be an illegal alien who is about to be deported. Also starring Al Waxman as Lt. Bert Samuels and Carl Lumbly as Mark Petrie.

A psychic's (guest star Elizabeth Ashley) predictions provide Cagney (Sharon Gless) and Lacey (Tyne Daly) with their only leads when a missing person's case turns into a murder investigation. Also starring Al Waxman and Carl Lumbly.

Cagney and Lacey are brought in when a lottery jackpot is being claimed by multiple people. They must decide who has the real ticket and whose winning ticket is actually counterfeit. Meanwhile, Lacey and Harvey prepare for an IRS audit.

During an underground investigation of a notorious narcotics dealer, Cagney crosses the line to entrapment and expects Lacey to commit perjury on her behalf. Lacey must then decide if she stands by her partner or admit to knowing nothing about it.

Cagney (Sharon Gless) and Lacey's (Tyne Daly) investigation of the fire-bombing of an abortion clinic places them on opposing sides over this controversial issue. When a patient is killed in the blast, they must decide if it was one murder or two.

Mothers And Sons,

The detective must crack a mother's testimony on the alibi of her son who is accused of robbery and assault while Lacey (Tyne Daly) must deal with her own son's problems at school. Also starring Sharon Gless as Christine Cagney.

Cagney (Sharon Gless) and Lacey (Tyne Daly) investigate the robbery and murder of a 70-year-old recluse as Charlie Cagney (guest star Dick O'Neill) is hospitalized with pneumonia. Meanwhile, a pregnant Lacey must learn to adapt her work routine.

Cagney is branded as a coward after a robbery suspect is able to elude her during a chase. She is suspended from duty, leaving Lacey to clear her name. Meanwhile, Cagney's brother Brian visits from California and checks in on their father.

When Cagney is placed in charge of the 14th Precinct during Lt. Samuels' vacation, her fellow detectives accuse her of being on a power trip. Meanwhile she is disappointed that one of her first assignments is to force Lacey to go on maternity leave.

When Lacey goes out on maternity leave, Cagney's is given a temporary partner temporary partner, Sara Jones. Jones becomes obsessed with a rape investigation and increasingly frustrated with the length of time it is taking to arrest the suspect.

Act Of Conscience,

While Lacey is on maternity leave, Cagney is assigned a controversial new partner who's past of turning in other cops who have participated in illegal activity makes the rest of the 14th precinct question how long he will stay among them.

While investigating a series of muggings of disabled persons, Cagney (Sharon Gless) gets a first-hand look at the problems they face and becomes romantically involved with a man (guest star James Stacy) who is handicapped and advocating for change.

When a vial of plutonium is stolen from a scientist, Cagney (Sharon Gless) and Lacey (Tyne Daly) run up against government barriers trying to locate the lethal radioactive material before the thief becomes terminally ill.
