We hear about the dramatic story that saw an off-duty surveillance officer tackle a gunman on the streets of London, and how one criminal fired at police before leading them on a chase across the city only to be snared in his own home.

We tell the story of the hard stop, one of the police's most difficult tactical maneuvers used to intercept armed men as they travel by car. We unpick one such incident that ended with a fatal shooting, and an armed policeman on trial for murder.
