Ricky cannot help Fred out by performing at his lodge show because he is already booked for a radio show that day. Lucy volunteers to help out so she and Fred whip up a Western act. Ricky discovers it's a rodeo show that he's booked for, not a radio show.

Nursery School,

Ricky finds Lucy exhausted after a trying day with little Ricky and insists it is time their son started nursery school. Lucy's protests are overridden and Ricky takes young Ricky to nursery school, but the baby comes down with tonsillitis.

Ricky is offered a European booking that is too important to refuse but he can't afford to take Lucy with him. Lucy is furious at the prospect of being left behind, and when Ricky wants to take Fred Mertz along as the tour manager, Ethel too, is incensed.

The Ricardos and Mertzes, sightseeing in Paris, are sitting at a sidewalk cafe that Charles Boyer is known to frequent. Lucy thinks she has spotted Boyer and turns to jelly, but Ricky convinces her it's a case of mistaken identity.

Lucy goes on a hunger strike in order to get Ricky to buy an expensive dress from a famous French designer. He finally gives in but returns the dress when he discovers that Ethel smuggled her food while on the strike.

Fred, managing Ricky's band while on European tour, routes the musicians to Locarno instead of Lucerne. Ricky is distraught and Lucy suggests a hike in the Alps with the Mertzes to take his mind off his problems.

Fred Mertz, managing Ricky's European band tour, is very concerned over the expense incurred when he misrouted Ricky's band so he books second-class train passage for the overnight trip to Florence and a fourth-class hotel for their stay.

The Ricardos and Mertzes are on a train for Rome when Lucy is 'discovered' by an Italian film director who offers her a role in his new picture, "Bitter Grapes".

The Ricardos and Mertzes are leaving Genoa for Nice when Lucy decides they should all go by bicycle because they can't see enough of the countries from the train. Ricky and the Mertzes agree under protest and after an exhausting day of pedaling.

Ricky is working in Monte Carlo, but Fred goofed and bargained for too little money for the engagement. Lucy and Ethel go to the casino to watch, but when Lucy finds a chip that someone dropped and replaces it on the table, it wins and continues to do so.
