Induction day for new recruits. Rose, a seemingly sweet old lady – who's also Colin's Nan, turns out to be something of a devil and forces Gavin to make Colin his deputy, with disastrous consequences.

Gavin's new assistant, Daniel, starts today and is thrown into the deep-end while Gavin deals with the arrival of the owner of Valco, who's dropping off his daughter, Charlie.

Valco is cracking down on counterfeit money, and when Lisa tells Rose that a customer is pulling the wool over Rose's eyes, Rose assaults the customer.

Daniel is running first aid training today and Charlie and Brian drive him to breaking point.

Freddie Flintoff is launching a party range in Valco today and for the main press event, he's bowling to Gavin.

Daniel's running the store when head office announce the canteen is no longer free. The staff are not impressed so Charlie takes them all out to lunch to take the heat off Daniel.

Brendan O'Connor, the owner of Valco, comes to assess his daughter's progress. Daniel and Gavin have their work cut out trying to pass her off as competent.

Everyone is raising funds for a local children's ward and the doctor overseeing is Brian's successful brother Phil.
