Nina Foch plays a grandmother whose only grandchild is kidnapped by two ineffectual crooks. As McGarrett and his Five-O forces attempt to move up the mountain where the child is being held, the kidnappers lay down a withering fuselage of rifle fire.

A travel agent operating gambling junkets is slain as a warning to his partner to stop competing for the gambling business.

McGarrett attempts to crack an extortion ring preying on small businessmen. The detective's investigation seems to run into a roadblock when it is learned that one of the gang members is courting the daughter of Chin Ho.

A cat burglar strikes at the home of a socially prominent island family, setting off a fast-moving series of events that lead to a death. McGarrett's search for clues takes him to a rundown neighborhood.

A police informer tells McGarrett that one of the jurors in the murder trial of island strong-arm has been bribed in an effort to produce a hung jury.
