Lip gets close to his new friend Jack and even closer to Jack's sister, but when Ian starts his own relationship with Jack, the secrets revealed threaten to tear the brothers apart.

Mandy Maguire gives birth early when she's shoved during a robbery at the shop, but Lip's barred access to his child by her thuggish family. Kev hunts down the thief responsible for the robbery.

Carol's revenge against Lillian puts the whole estate under the scrutiny of benefit fraud officers. Lip takes the opportunity to profit by advising people defrauding the council.

Kev's birthday is ruined when he finds out his mother has committed suicide. The funeral brings Kev's wife back into town, bringing Kev and Veronica's relationship to the brink of destruction.
