Mark and Jeff take down the chimney. Scott and Shayla window shop. Jeff and Richard find new plumbing products. The ranch’s exterior walls come down. Jeff decides to reuse the original rafters.

The crew places a center beam to support the second story. A hole is cut in the original foundation for a new window. Kevin visits an engineered lumber factory. Tommy and Jeff raise the end gables.

Kevin and Tommy take the tour with the homeowners and Jeff. Norm presents his pine coffee table. Jenn gives Tommy the garden tour. Everyone meets at the flagpole to raise the flags.

Paradise | Paradise Lost,

A year after California’s worst wildfire, the people of Paradise are still clearing the devastation. About 90% of the homes were lost. Kevin, Tom, and Richard meet families determined to rebuild.

Paradise | Out of the Ashes,

The homeowner fabricates a stone hearth. Richard learns about automatic sprinkler systems. Kevin sees a simulator that shows how the Camp Fire spread. Tom inspects a vent designed to resist embers.

Luke and Crystal move in. Kevin visits a fire test lab. Jose and Anna’s house gets roof shingles. Mark installs a stone veneer. Kevin tours farms. Jenn meets an architect who designed a town memorial.

Homeowners put the history back into their 1890s Shingle-style home. They’ll restore the home’s original beauty and update it for modern living.

Cape Ann | Between and Rock and Hardwood,

Tommy and Kevin start to lay subfloor in the dining room. Charlie explains drilling granite for the new garage and driveway. Kevin tours Cape Ann then joins Tommy to move an interior doorway.

Tommy and Charlie create a cathedral ceiling. Mark breaks through the foundation to make space for mechanicals. Kevin learns about sun tunnels and Richard creates a plan for cooling.
