The team is threatened with the introduction of Lifeblood, a privately owned rescue organisation trying to take over their business. It leaves the entire team on edge, in fear of losing their jobs and their future in rescue work.

Dean tries to help a man who has become trapped in his car following an accident, but the victim makes surprising decisions after being told he is unlikely to survive.

The team is dispatched to a foggy ravine where a couple, Michael and Katie Pitt, have gone over. Katie dies and initially, Lara feels for Michael but begins to suspect something isn't right when he repeatedly looks for the return of a duffel bag.

Secrets and Lies,

Heidi rescues a girl who was found alone on a cliff, discovering she has mysterious injuries and her friends are trapped in a cave.

Chase treats a man who allegedly tried to commit suicide, and Lara struggles to cope with the breakdown of her marriage.

Dancers at a Gay Pride festival rehearsal become trapped under a float, while Jordan and Heidi discover Freya's flat has been ransacked.

Man in the Machine,

Because of Chase's shoulder injury, he switches work assignments with Vince, which gets challenging for both: When a man gets his arm stuck in a machine, mysterious things happen and Lara goes missing.

The team is called out to rescue a refuse collector who is trapped in his truck, and discover a seemingly suicidal woman standing on the roof of an office building.

It's Not the Fall That Kills You,

A rescue on a tall building goes wrong and suddenly Lara is the only one keeping both Dean and Cam from falling to the ground.

Michelle discovers an intruder photocopying confidential documents in her office, but the ensuing chase leads to the criminal being hit by a car.

The team recovers an injured fisherman, only to learn that another person is stranded on a cliff. Michelle also accepts a job with Lifeblood.

A prison bus containing female inmates overturns on a motorway and the team treats the injured passengers, but one of the felons steals a guard's gun.

Members of the team test out their new quad bikes on the Kurnell dunes, only to stumble across a seriously injured boy in a smashed-up buggy.

Chemical Brothers,

A light plane that could not be contacted crashes into a customs yard, leading the team to launch a full-scale rescue operation.

The Carter Redemption,

Heidi and Jordan look forward to time alone after a rescue, only for a gang of bikers to demand their help because two of their friends have crashed into a cafe.

Heidi and Jordan try to rescue a storm chaser trapped in an up-turned car, but the wind threatens to push the vehicle over a cliff.

A cleaner impales himself on a valuable steel sculpture at an art gallery, and Dean tries to bond with Zoe's son Noah.

Missing Pieces,

Helen Hillerstrom asks the team for help when her son disappears in the Blue Mountains, 10 years after her husband vanished without a trace.

Class of Their Own,

A balcony collapses at a party, trapping some of the revelers, but the rescue is hindered by drunken teenagers.

The Intervention,

Lara and Dean discover a missing prospector has abducted his children and taken them into the Bush.

The Gallagher brothers are forced to improvise to help an injured kitesurfer, who asks Jordan on a date when she recovers.
