A community is rocked when the body of a teenage boy is found under the wheels of a tractor. The boy's friends endeavor to uncover the dark world that is lurking behind their quaint little village.

Suspicions are running high after the discovery of Cal's body. Cal's friends - Rob, James, Tina, Janine and Annie - are questioned by the police about what happened on the night of the murder.

It's Cal's funeral and the community is preparing to bury him. The friends are banished - denied the chance to say goodbye. Eli is haunted by the changes he'd seen in Cal in the last few years.

Tina is shocked when Dominic offers her a chance to ride Blackout in a big race. A race Blackout must win for Jackie to sell the horse and save the farm. Dominic's agenda seems increasingly sinister.

It's the day of the annual Warwick Farm pheasant shoot. James is adamant he can handle it but that is before Rob interferes. Rob is determined to find the identity of his stalker.

James is in custody, but Ruth doubts his guilt. She visits Elizabeth Marshall in the hospital, while James calls a mysterious man for an alibi.

There have now been three murders. James stays in custody, but the investigation falters. With Ian dead, Ruth is reassigned to patrol, facing the grim reality that she may never find Cal's killer.

Ruth must choose between loyalty to the travellers and revealing the killer. Bee returns to support James, now out on bail. When one of the friends is kidnapped, a massive manhunt ensues.
