For her first case, McKenna is paired with Courier Aaron (Moses' brother) to help a son reconcile with his dying father before it's too late.

McKenna teams with Samuel to encourage a protective mother to let her adult son with Down Syndrome reintegrate into society. The case introduces McKenna to a handsome 9-1-1 operator who receives calls from the woman's son when he wants a friend.

McKenna aids Courier Jacob in helping a drug-addled reporter who lands on the streets after selling out her sister for a fix. Meanwhile, McKenna's father fights his own substance abuse demons, struggling to cope with the loss of his wife.

As much as McKenna pleads for the Program to help her father, McKenna is stunned when a very special Courier is appointed to help her instead. Before McKenna can move forward with life, she must face the part she played in her mother's tragic death.
